Qingdao Huanghai University, founded in 1996, is an undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, with MA/MS degrees being conferred to students. The University is situated at the core of the West Coast New District, a national level new district.

The university, with an enrolment of 20000 full-time students, comprises 14 colleges or departments, with more than 60 undergraduate or three-year certificate specialties, covering 7 disciplines, such as engineering, management, economics, education, art, science, and literature.
